A/N: with 15 pages and over 8.500 words, this is the longest chapter I've ever written and posted. Took me this long because I feel that this is an important chapter for a certain someone's emotional development. You also get to know details, but at the same time some questions might be pop up as you read.

This chapter is somewhat slow with the action, but at the end you'll know why.

Unwilling Partners Ch20A/N: Here is another chapter! Thanks to Mistrevar for all the help and the betaing. Yes, in canon it may be longer than ten years (eleven or twelve, or more), but in this fic, it's about ten years since the Alpha Incident. That makes Netto and Forte roughly the same age, with Forte being a few months older. Just random trivia I'll let you know.

Ok, let me start this with "I DID NOT COPIED THIS FROM THAT IMAGE OF SHADOW IN THE JAPANESE OPENING OF SONIC X."

Really, I didn't copy it (actually, I had forgotten about that image, but maybe, since I like Shadow a lot, it remained engraved into my subconscious, or what it's called...), one day I was so bored that I started drawing, and this was the result; only after a few days I discovered that the pose was the same.

It's the second time I cg a pic, but this time it was a struggle; while the shadows were easy to do, I hard a really hard time doing the highlights, and there may be some errors on that part, but since I can't see them anymore, to me it looks good.

The fact that it was hard to do (took me half a month. Hey! I'm a beginner! Remember it), it made me proud how it came out, and I'm happy with it. EXTREMELY happy.

To not let the background a simple, plain dead middle gray, I decided to put Shadow's eye (a little blurred so it wouldn't ruin the main subject too much) because it's the part that I came to love the most. ALSO, that eye is 100% sized. This means that the file I worked on has the eye that big (my computer froze over more than one time, and one of these I lost to hours of work. Luckily I have 256 mb of ram. I don't dare to think what would have happened with my previous 128... brrr!)

Forgive for commenting on an older deviation, but I couldn't help noticed how great this. That's some awesome CGing, and his expression is quite fitting. Really neat job on the background as well. Everything is so detailed and it looks like you certainly put a lot of effort into this. I'm going to fave this.

I love the eye in the background and his muzzle... soo dark and. Yeah.
